Test Drive, 2023

Test Drive hung in the Canadian Quilters Association’s 2024 National Juried Show. It was the first time I had submitted a quilt of my own design to be judged into a national show. I was thrilled when it was accepted into Quilt Canada in Edmonton, Alberta. Not only did it hang in the show, but to my absolute delight, it was awarded 2nd Place in the Modern Quilting category.

This quilt grew out of an experiment testing different ideas for future projects. As I completed each block it went up on the design wall for futher consideration and/or revision. Those original blocks, that were eventually made into pillows, became the beginning design ideas for this quilt…aptly named Test Drive.
