Bauhaus, 2022

I was introduced to the Bauhaus School of Design while studying Textile Arts at Capilano University. The use of simple geometric shapes speaks to me. The simplicity of their design, together with their colour palette draw me in. This quilt works with the shapes and colours used by the Bauhaus…the yellow triangle, the blue circle and the red square. After making this quilt, I was commissioned to make a second Bauhaus quilt in which I was able to work with the same design components but in different colour combinations. I have continued to work with this colour palette, designing a number of throw pillows to complement both quilts.
